This new CD-ROM from OUP puts four of their most popular reference books into one incredibly useful package. The Oxford Dictionary of English, Oxford Thesaurus, Oxford Dictionary of Quotations and Oxford World Encyclopaedia are presented in an electronic reference library which works straightforwardly for both Windows and Web access. The best thing about the software is not only the combination of four such useful volumes, but ease of use. Once the CD-ROM has been installed on the hard drive it runs in the background of other programs, so that it can be consulted and closed at the touch of a button without waiting for the application to start up or shut down. Choose a single word, and the appropriate references from each volume are listed, so that you can choose which of the books is most relevant to your inquiry--and then, when you are satisfied, close the reference list and return to your window. This package is much broader, richer and authoritative than any thesaurus or dictionary on a most word processors. The lack of certain basic words in standard dictionaries ceases to be an irritation here, and it is no longer necessary to turn away from the screen to consult heavy books. This pop-up diccionary is a great combination of four of Oxfords bestsellers, its worthy its price and very useful for students of English as a foreign language. Specially helpful is the Oxford Diccionary of Quotations searching engine, which allows you fast and easily to get quotations by author, words, etc.
I must say the design is a complete dissaster You only have a tiny little window for searching, of course I understand this happens because it is a pop-up diccionary, but anyway a diccionary is a diccionary and I think OUP has enough means to get a better product design.

A bit backward in terms of features and interface  |

It is a useful tool and a comprehensive range of reference books.
I think that alone makes it value for money, as the price is less than hardcopies of those books would cost.
As other reviewers have observed, it is let down a fair bit by the interface.
The product is dominated by offering little context-sensitive popups, rather than a decent eBook layout alternative.
I think it would be useful if English was a second language, or you regularly struggle with vocabulary. However, I generally do not need help when reading websites, I am more likely to want to find words, definitions etc when writing something myself.
This product is fairly well suited to giving further information about stuff displayed on the screen, but a bit weak as support in research.
Having said that, the reference material is all there and can be searched and retrieved without too much difficulty .. just more longwinded than one would expect nowadays.

The content of this software more than compensates for lack of functionality. You also have the opportunity to download lots of other foreign language and other reference dictionaries into this one place. Its great for research.
